Thank God It’s Finally On Us!
Recently I have won a national biology competition held by Institut Pertanian Bogor (Bogor Agricultural Institute) along with my two team-mates Tiroy Junita and Meva Nareza. Thank God for your blessing, we placed 1st :)
Which is kind of amazing because our rivals are so tough. They are biology masters such as Harun Reza Sugito, Marsha Christanvia, Patricia Jonathan, Lilie Fransiska, Thoriq Salafi. Their team-mates Jeffry Alamsjah, Matthew Billy, Gunawan, Ibrahim Ardisasmita, Parangeni Muhammad are OSN medalists and TOBI's pelatnas members.
However, the main goal is still The Tenth National Biology Olympiad which is going to be held at Menado in 2011. I take this as a stepping stone to create, what my Biology Olympic teacher, Miss Celine, said: A Snowball Effect. Hopefully my snowball will gain size as big as a mountain when it's time to strike NBO with it, hehehehe.
I've also participated in another competition called LCTIP (Lomba Cepat Tepat Ilmu Pangan) with a physic student Indhika Fauzan and a chemistry student Hana Antonio but we didn't place. Another team consist of Bagus Wicaksono, Fiorentina Cemerlang Ririhena and Fauzanil Azmy also made it to semifinals but they didn't place too. We also send out two teams for Medspin UNAIR 2010 at Surabaya: Tiroy Junita, Nurul Aulia, Ubay Noor, and the second team are: Selma Ramadhani, Aisyah Hafizha and Radhian Ferel. Tiroy's team made it to final and placed 10th. Okay that's enough about biology. Wanna hear from other major?
1. Please welcome Ayu Fatmawati, Dhata Karuni Mutia Masyita and Nurwidya Utami Jati who have just gotten back home from World Mathematic Team Competition (WMTC) in Beijing! They didn't place but we are still so very proud of them!
2. From the English major (like we got any), we placed first on 48 Senior High Debate Competition against 81 Senior High. The team members are Inado Grace Simarmata, Michelle Ginting and Vera Ridhani. I am so excited that they got the first prize and beat 81 :D Don't ask me why haha.
3. Chemistry major rocks Health Ministry Chemistry Competition and brought home the first prize. They (Nurul Aulia, Bagus Wicaksono and Prika Maulina Agaristi) made it into semifinals too at IPB but they didn't proceed to final. But that's okay. They've won after all ;)
4. Me, Tiroy Junita, Fiorentina Ririhena, Meva Nareza and Melysa Sitepu flew to Jogjakarta on December 2010 to attend the semifinal round of Indonesian Bio-Science Competetion held by Universitas Gajah Mada (Gajah Mada University). Thank God, I made it to semifinal round two, but I didn't proceed to the final.
Past events that are also amazing to share:
1. We dominated the semifinals of Universitas Negeri Jakarta (Jakarta State University) Math Competition called Pelangi and our math master, Dhata Karuni Mutia Masyita placed 5th!
2. Tiroy Junita attended Asian Science Camp in Mumbai, India along with other gifted children conducted by Surya Institute. She apparently gain a new bff along the journey :P
3. Ayu Fatmawati and Fiorentina Ririhena get a bronze medal for Singapore Mathematic Olympiad of junior category. You know what, they are a 14 years old 11th grader!
4. Samuel Leonardo Putra get a bronze medal at Chemistry National Olympiad at Medan and now he just got back from Pelatnas. Welcome back amigo!
Well that's just about it. To be true, I am really happy because our school has become famous for our good reputation. People start to fear us in the arena and that is an amazing thing because our school have only been there for two years. And we are now doing everything we can to maintain our reputation. But I feel reallly sad because, not that I underestimate them or anything, I think our predecessor must struggle to keep up with our education year, because from what I heard or see, they haven't got what it takes to be a champion. Well, wisest thing to say is to just wait for time to do its thing. I begged you my junior, please please don't fail us. I know you guys are amazing so please please make sure you will hold on to everything that we have gained and push it higher. I have faith that you all can do it :D May our school be the best school in the states!

Haven’t Met You Yet
I’m not surprised, not everything last
I’ve broken my heart so many times I stopped keeping track
Talk myself in, I talk myself out
I get all worked up and then I let myself down
I tried so very hard not to lose it
I came up with a million excuses
I thought, I thought every possibilities
And I know someday that it’ll all turn out
You’ll make me work, so we can work to work it out
And I promise you, kid, I give so much more than I get
I just haven’t met you yet
Familiar with these phrases? Yep. It’s Michael Buble’s. Just wanna share about what’s been on my mind lately. I am going to post an actual post after this, I promise. Until then, you are obliged to be happy with this short post :)
Greting loved ones,
Ms. Dharmawan

Introducing Me

OSN IX 2010 :D
I know, I know I haven't posted for ages but now I am ready to share a new one!
I'm in my room right now waiting for my call to go to the school while I'm writing this blog. It is now 06:10 a.m and Sugar Sugar from the Archies is playing from our dorm speaker -____-
I'm going to share all of you my most recent breathtaking experience and that is: attending Indonesia's most prestigious academic competition.
I am very very very proud to become one of the participant in that event eventhough I didn't get any medal or even get to be the Indonesia's Biology Olympiad Team. I wasn't trying hard enough to deserve that medal so I guess I'll have to try next year :)
About the competition, it is divided into eight major for high school student and that is: Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer, Geology, Astronomy and Economy.
I majored in Biology which I resent for the first time but now I'm really in love with this subject <3
Now, biology is divided into three main competition. One experiment and two theory. I failed in the experiment and the theory as well. My score is only 49.24 out of 100 and that makes me in the 61st position (general) and 22nd position (11th grade)
And the requirement to be a TOBI is that I have to at least become the big 15 in my grade (11th) and I only lose 2.08 point to the last big 15. Isn't it heart breaking? :'(
Well, that's competition.
But what I really want to share is that I miss being a part of that event, I miss the training, I miss my DKI Jakarta team, I miss my coach and my friends I met in Medan. I miss the atmosphere and the competition aura. I want to dedicate my whole life for Biology. I want to be a part of this event forever, whether I am a participant, a coach, a crew, a companion teacher or even a reporter in that event. Every year I get to meet many bright students from all over the country, I learned their key to success and sometimes envy them on how life can be so easy for them. But I am so thankful that I have an opportunity to be a part of this event and realise how small I am to thius big big world.
I also wanted to congratulate my friends who had been able to carry that medal home. Wish me to catch up with you guys next year at Manado. Au revoir! I have to go to schoooollll

Holy-Dayssss
My good! My God! My Goodness!!! I can’t believe it’s holiday at last!
Well, actually, holiday’s over. I just hope that I can say that word one more time in this situation -______- Hahahaha.
Earlier this year, I begged to my dad about having a family vacation because the last big family vacation I ever had is when I was in 4th grade of primary school. We went to Singapore and Malaysia that time. Since then, we hadn’t had a grand family vacation. We usually spent our vacation dining in many kinds of restaurant, visiting malls, watching movies and else. And by I mean ‘grand’ is that we go on a vacation, with the whole member of my nuclear family to some place far away and stay for a quite a while. My father agreed. And I had one requirement. NO HIGHLAND. I am SICK of mountain view, forests, green scenery, tea leaves, cold and damp air. It gave me a nausea everytime I think about it. Eww. I missed BEACHES, seashore, the sound of the waves, making sandcastle, feel the sun on my face, getting blown by the sea wind. It is my kind of World’s Nirvana, hahaha. Maybe that’s because it’s in my blood. I was born as an archipelago kid, born in Batam, part of the Riau Archipelago. In my first month in this world, my mother had taken me to the beach. So I guess me and beaches are like calling each other to become reunited with a gazillions of joy in each heart.
So, my father decided that we can go to Parai Beach in Bangka Belitung. My father said that the beaches there were still virgin and isolated. So it is like we’re in our private beach. But I refused. Beside visiting beautiful beaches, I would like to do many activities as well. It will be extremely boring if you go to a beach and only sit back and relax and watch the beach as the time pass by.And looking at how my father described the beach, I concluded that the beach was very isolated that nothing fun and glamorous will be there. And I guess that you have already guessed which state in Indonesia that we visited? Yep! It’s BALI. The decision-making-process really took some time so that we were too late to book an airplane ticket. So we decided to go on a tour, explore Java Island by car to get to Bali. Then it’s settled.
(Okay, let me tell you before, that I am not going to write any date except the departure date and the arrival date. Now let’s begin)
It was 23 December 2009. I was waiting in my house for my father to come home from his office and then we’re ready to set off. Oh and yes, we took our driver with us, Mr. Didik so he can drive the car back home because we came home from Bali by airplane. Our first destination is to Majalengka, my mother’s hometown. It is in the route to our real destination, Jogjakarta. We spent a night there.
Day 2:
Early morning, we continued the journey using the Southern Route. We managed to arrive at Jogjakarta at 4 in the afternoon and checked in at Wisma MM UGM because we couldn’t book any big hotel due to the high season and that we only had decided our vacation two weeks before. My dad said that we’re lucky because we can get a place to stay. Almost every hotel in this city had been full booked for the holiday. After settling down, we went to Malioboro Street. I bought many souvenirs for my friends. And since I have two different categories of friends: 109 JHS and MHT, I had to buy many kind of souvenir. I also thought of buying a Batik dress for my vacation in Bali but I didn't find anything my size and my pocket. So I just let it passed. Beside Malioboro, I also visited the Gudeg centre, Dagadu and Bakpia 25. I bought Bakpia for my friends at dorm and also bought a Dagadu T-Shirt with funny writings on it. I rode on a tricycle around Djogja City together with my dad :)
Day 3:
Early in the morning, I woke up and continued the journey. But first, I stopped on Kotagede, the silversmith city. I bought a silver ring with three zircons tied in the ring. I t is very beautiful and luckily, there's a big sale so I can get it for only 80.000 rupiahs! Beside that ring, I also by a pair of earings for only 75.000 rupiahs :)) Our next destination was: Batu Malang. On our way there, we passed Prambanan Temple and couldn't help ourselves to not to dropped by. I bought a bamboo bracelet which I wear until today :)) We arrived at Batu Malang at 10 p.m after gone through the scariest lost ever! The road led us to an uncivilized forest with steep road and curvy turnings. Even scarier, there are no one but us and the fog were starting to come down! Fortunately, with the help of my dad's GPS (thank you technology :)) we can hit the main road and made our way to the hotel safely. This hotel is better than the one in Djogja. The one in Djogja is good, but this one is great. The structure of the hotel is like a cottage.
